I really need to organize this website better.  I want to make a video page, and have a seperate page for every update, like a day by day thing.  That way you don’t have to load the entire trip everytime you visit the site.  I don’t know how yet.  I’m new with this.  Here are the three videos I’ve made so far.

I’m leaving for Cancun tomorrow.  It’s a long drive from where I am in Mazatlan.  Look it up.

A road which lead me back to civilization

This bird was just perched up here and didn’t even bat and eye when I drove by. If it was anything like me, it was just still trying to warm up from the night before. (my grip heaters are on high)

This bus was going about 10 mph. It would take forever to get anywhere at that speed.

The kid in the stripped white shirt used to work in LA, but moved back here because he ran out of work. He says lots of Mexicans are moving back. It is too hard to find work in the US. He left his wife and kid up there.

The road kill in Mexico is different than in Michigan.

The cows will look anywhere for food.

These people were from England ages 40 and 41. They have been Traveling from Vancouver since September. They are just bumming around and loving it. Although the guy said the next trip is going to be on a motorcycle.

I was advised not to stay in the town because it is known for drugs. Gas and go. I move on. This is where the cyclists said they planned on camping.

Ironically there was a funeral in progression when I passed through.

Just outside Durango the road to Mazatlan gets interesting.

These people stop to fix their AC. I stop to take pictures.

Throwing rocks off the clifs will get you scolded by your mother. Especially when a Gringo is taking pictures.

The scenery was amazing.

I really was interested to see where this road when, but I passed. It was already going to be late when I arrive in the next town.

I have no idea what this signs says. It was on a ridge between two huge valleys. You could see for miles on both sides.

Macro shot for the day.

Most of the traffic was semi trucks (That just made it fun to pass)

I stopped to much today to take photos and ran out of light again.

I drove about 45 minutes in the dark until I found a little Restaurant/Hotel in the hills. Dinner and a a night cost 190 pesos.

This guy was the fastest spider I have ever seen. He will stay still for photos, but he knows when you are trying to kill him. Anyone know what kind it is? It came free with the room

This one wasn’t as fast.

Good night, don’t let the bed bugs bite!

Travel Day. I’m riding 165 miles across the mountains from Concepcion del Oro to the nearest gas station which is in Nieves. The road starts off as cobblestone and takes me to the peak of the mountain at 9,000 feet. The road then settles down and turns into gravel.

Cactus

The water crossing was pretty cool but…

completely unnecessary

Some sights along the way

It turns out some of the roads were asphalt so I made great time. I decided to keep it going and high tail it to the next time. I make a wrong turn and start traveling on the side of fields.

hmm… This road keeps getting more remote.

Ok, so now the road has officially dead ended. It’s getting dark too.

Camp all setup

I am uploading a camping video to vimeo as we speak.
